Horse Slaughter Legislation Update
The good news is thanks to everybody’s huge effort taking the time to contact their state reps (and others for that matter) horsemeat for human consumption is illegal in Texas! For now .The Texas State Senate amended the bill S.B.911 to make horse slaughter legal. This same bill passed the House Agriculture Committee without the amendment to make horse slaughter legal. We still have two weeks left and at anytime either the House or Senate could sneak legislation through. It’s imperative that you make sure you call and email your respresentatives once again so that we can make sure this bill and any others are killed once and for all. You know you’ll feel better after doing so.
Bravo! Call your senators and ask them to support and cosponsor S 311. You can also contact the Texas legislators and ask that they strip the sentence (amendment to S911) that will reverse the 1949 ban before the senate vote. This is a national issue that impacts more than just Texas.

the bad news is now that it is leagal then all these beautiful creatures are dieing a bad painful death. you must have no heart to do such a thing. i totally agree with everyone who hates this auful murder.
