Seriously, Senator Hutchison single handedly undermined the secure fence act through stealth legislation hidden in the Omnibus Spending legislation. I never thought I'd say this, but compared to those likely to run (unless Kinky wants to take a shot as an independent), Rick Perry (gag) would be the best choice (or at least the least of the evils). Indeed, Texans should focus on driving a stake through the heart of the TTC, and reining in the "business" and "growth at any cost" control of our legislature. Democrats are as "growth goofy" as Republicans, and the potential for "corruption" should they gain even marginal power, far outweighs any value in electing Democrats as a strategy. Indeed, the recent efforts to pass open carry legislation in Texas might be the best way to go. An armed citizenry is always the best means of moderating legislative abuse and bureaucratic oppression. Besides, given the drug crime and violence spilling across from Juarez, open carry might be prudent as Texans may soon need to defend themselves against both criminals and invaders.
